Hurting too much to sleep so I'll complain.
Neuropathy is bad tonight. Cymbalta isn't helping at all. Pain is unbelieveable in left leg. Burning is trying to spread over all the legs. Tingling electricity is trying to travel over the rest of the body. Back hurts(kidneys this time probably). Took muscle relaxers. pain pills and sleeping pill.
Belly is swollen retaining water.
Dread going to the VA just simply dread it. Dread what might be days and days of tests and the hospital environment. There are some that say hypochrondia. Infuriating. Maybe that is why I'm a burnt red this evening and heart is palpitating.
Said a coupl of times I would discard the medicines and lay in bed from now on. Double sleeping pills and pain pills and wake up occassionally to go to the bathroom.
Gonna have to do something life isn't worth living this way. Perhaps tommorrow will be a good day and I can make a smile and talk about good times.
Maybe the second sleeping pill is kicking in. Wish me luck I may sleep to ten, if I'm lucky and maybe I won't wake up nauseated.
Prayers appreciated.

Sorry you're having a bad night Dave. Hopefully the second sleeping pill has kicked in by now and you'll read this tomorow morning after a good nights sleep. I would suggest you talk to someone at the VA about your depression Dave. They can help. I know this from personal experience. Thoughts and prayers are with you Brother, and welcome home.

Have you missed any doses of Cymbalta? You can have severe withdrawal symptoms quickly missing a couple of doses. Could be time for an increase in dose as well. Definitley don't put off seeing the Dr. with those symptoms.Have your heart checked too.

First, stop sleeping in a bed try a recliner, second ,stop taking all the drugs. you are going to give yourself a stroke. Third are you active? do anything to keep moving. The reason I am saying this to you is I have total nerve damage due to a fall on ice. My spinal column collapsed around mu spinal cord and left me numb from my neck down. The surgery to repair the damage did me more harm than good. They fused my neck at C2, C3 and C4 I have 12 screws and 2 plates holding my neck together. Also the surgery caused degenerative spine disease and along with 2 artificial hips that are not up to pare. I have extreme pain in both hips and spine. I TAKE NO DRUGS, I am in pain 24hours a day. Even after the hip replacement I still had the pain from the nerve damage.Which is equivalent to stubbing your toe on a piece of furniture. I walk with a cane plus I have a Service dog to help me walk and stay balanced and to pick things up for me(can't bend Over. I stay busy it hurts like hell but I keep moving helps my mind cope with the disabilities. I have a hard time sleeping, so I go down in my shop and make pens or bowls or just tinker until i wear myself down to sleep. But i know If I took the drugs you take I would be totally useless!. Do your self and your body a favor Get off the pills and get active1

I hope you are feeling better and I hope you can get relief. I really get angry when doctors think patients are hypochondriacs. At that point I would say, "No, you just haven't run the right test and found the real problem." Every symptom has a cause. Some are easier to find than others. It sounds like you need the services of a teaching hospital.

Dave - hang in there - you have my prayers. I've had back pain and neuropathy for 30 or so years. Doctors said there was nothing to be done for it. Told me to exercise!!! HUH?? I was walking 5 miles a day/5 days a week....and that's when I started having problems! I couldn't walk anymore, going to the grocery store was pure misery. I got a new family doctor who BELIEVED me, got me in with a pain specialist and within 3 months, he has me 98% pain free!!! It took him cauterizing some small nerves in my back, but what the heck, it WORKED! As I said, you have my prayers.....

Prayers headed your way.

Have you tried Gabapentin for neuropathy? Sure helps my wife. She takes 600mg three times a day.
