Does anybody have any recommendations for a place to camp in Cape Cod, MA? My daughter (9) has made this one specific request this year for her summer vacation. I do not want to disappoint and risk having her lose interest.

I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

Nickerson State Park, Brewster

Shawme-Crowell State Forest, Sandwich

There are about 5 tent sites at Scusset Beach, Sandwich (north side of Cape Cod Canal

They are all state parks and all sites can be reserved through ReserveAmerica.com

It would help if we new what she liked to do or why she wants to camp on Cape Cod as each campground has special qualities; ie bicycle riding either Nickerson (On 22 mile Cape Cod Rail Trail) or Scusset Beach(On 7 mile Canal Service Road)or if looking for a beach on the ocean (Scusset Beach) etc.

There are a lot more private campgrounds.

Paul

After reading the above post, another thought.

Martha's Vineyard Family Campground

There are a lot of tent sites here. You can get a trolley pass and explore the island. The trolley picks you up in front of the campground. The trolley system covers the whole island. Get on and off as many times as you like.

South Beach is a great place to swim. From the campground you can bicycle for miles without going on the street.

A second thought since she is 9. Have her do the research and pick the campground. Under your supervision, she can visit each website and decide what campground has the activities she is interested in. Great educational experience.

Don't wait to long to make a reservation, sites on the cape fill fast. Scusset Beach will be difficult to get into.

X2 on sweetwater. If she likes Horses its also is a horse ranch. The sites have some nice space between them and there is a nice pond there. We go there each spring!
