I must be the odd ball. Once gas/diesel approached (or exceeded) $4 a gallon, I quit worrying about trying to find the cheapest source and concentrated more on the convenience the station offered to put their petrol in my machine. If you save 5 cents a gallon and need 80 gallons, you have only saved 4.00 on a $320 purchase. Yeah, that's a whopping 1.25% of the purchase and will buy you a pack of cigarettes, but I don't smoke and would rather spend the $4 on a convenient fill-up and not worry about who is the cheapest (burning a gallon of gas in the process of finding it). It's just a matter of priorities and perceptions. I will eat out one less time and be able to have five less stressful fillups. Life is too short to sweat what you can't really control. Now, if I exit on an interchange and there are two truck stops there with different prices, I will normally choose the least expensive unless it is also way too busy for me to mess with. Just my two cents worth!!!
