I'm taking my 10 year old daughter on our first tent camping adventure in early June. I want the experience to be pleasant so she will want to repeat it. I found a nice State Park in Virginia near Williamsburg, but it didn't have the gravel tent areas I am used to seeing at COE parks in our area. Looks like you would pitch the tent on grass and dirt. Fine if it stayed dry, but not so fine in the rain. Only need bath house with hot water and electric at the site.

I'm new to tent camping, but not RVing. I want to try something that will make the drive a little more pleasant. Convertible camping sounds fun! Does anybody know of a good tent campground in the Williamsburg, Jamestown area?
