Diamond Pet Foods Issues THIRD Dog Food Recall Due To Salmonella Concerns
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/01/diamond-pet-food-recell_n_1467069.html

IMHO I think it is now time for pet owners to call AND report on line our concerns about this plant continuing production without a full FDA investigation.

FDA DOES respond to letters of complaints and acts upon them. If no one submits a complaint nothing will be done by FDA because Diamond is voluntarily recalling so no reports are trigger internally by the FDA, we need to bring this to their attention. Not only for our pets safety but for humans as FDA themselves state on every recall the danger to humans by contact with salmonella tainted dog food.

After so many recalls from this plant that also produces 'many' different brands it is just a matter of time before someone loses a pet.

Call you local office coordinator first.
http://www.fda.gov/Safety/ReportaProblem........onsumerComplaintCoordinators/default.htm

AND then submit a report on line.

Are you sure they are not doing what you wanted in the first place; recall all foods made during that production cycle (having confirmed there was an issue in each product)?

If the company (Diamond) that made the food is doing the recall, why contact the FDA?? It's already taken care of. You sound like the boy who cried "wolf".

OK - I'll confess: Jimmy has a 3-4" spot on his flank where very scant fur is growing in. I have to admit, that all these recalls DID cross my mind since I feed Diamond food. But when I took him to the Vet, and we started talking about where we had been and what he could have been exposed to (my first reaction was "nothing out of the ordinary") - THEN I remembered our trip to visit my bro-in-law in Florida. Who has a lawn service and surely sprays for every kind of creepy-crawly beastie they can encounter..... my dogs spent most of the day for 5 days, playing in the fenced backyard. Doggie Heaven, or so I thought... probably more like Toxic Playland....

Anyway - the Vet says it's probably "flank alopecia" and we're watching it.... and I'm keeping my dogs away from fancy yards from now on.

And my point in mentioning this, is that so often, our pets are exposed to stuff we don't normally think about - but it isn't good for them.

Thanks to the original poster. I think the point was to voice consumer concern. I currently feed one of my dogs with Diamond Naturals Adult food. I am very concerned as I spent a lot of time/research deciding which adult food to use following the puppy stage. I take my feeding responsibility seriously...
have already lost 2 dogs to cancer when they were both fed good quality diets.
It would really be nice to know that the Diamond plant has been inspected & all is well
I did submit a consumer concern report regarding Diamond.

Thanks, Doug - I wasn't aware that Salmonella was easily transmitted by simply touching the tainted food and not washing your hands afterward!!

There are more voluntary recalls of other brands of food manufactured at the Diamond plant. I don't believe these have been posted by anyone here yet. If they have, then sorry for the repeat.

So is Diamond refunding the purchase price on this dog food. I went to their site and never could find that mythical form they mention.
