I've had the refrigerator in my 2003 190 Popular running for a day on LP and now trying to turn the knob to DC. The knob won't budge. Any ideas why? I'd like to switch it now that I'm starting my drive.

I totally agree. Using the LP system is preferred to using DC. The amperage needed in DC mode really puts a load on your alternator.
And,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that is why 3 way fridges are scarce as hen's teeth! The 12 VDC just doesn't work very well and the propane use is very small.

For future reference.... IIRC, that little knob is turning a bunch more stuff than you might think... it's a pretty complex switch. Try turning it in the other direction first to get whatever tiny bit of slack you can, then give it a _sharp_ twist in the direction you want to go.

From what I have read, leaving LP tanks open when driving is a no-no. My van has a 3 way fridge and I'd rather put a bigger alternator to be able to handle the load than risk fire or explosion from leaving the LP tanks open. Or simply buying a bag of ice to stick in there when on a long drive. The 3 way knob is still there thankfully. The original thermostat knob was there but badly broken. I had one from an old toaster oven I kept around and it fit perfectly. I just need to mark L and H in the proper places so I know where the thermostat is roughly in relation to the original knob.
