We sometimes find that our bedroom in the 5th wheel gets very warm. Our air works great but we were wondering about adding a fantastic fan for times when we didn't want or couldn't run the air. Would it help cool the bedroom or at least circulate the air? If so, what model do you suggest?

I installed the 6000 in our bedroom. I wanted something with a rain sensor so I would not wake up wet in the middle of the night. During the summer when it cools down in the evening we usually open a few windows in the main living area and the Fantastik Fan pulls the hot air trapped in the top of the rig out, and pulls the air in from the outside. We have also run ours at night while sleeping, it does make some noise, but not so much you can't get to sleep. My only regret is I didn't do it when I bought the rig, took me 3 years before I installed it, and wished I had done it day 1.

Our fifth wheel came with two Fantastic Fans with rain sensors and thermostats. For our rig and the few hot days and areas we travel to, the FF in the bedroom wasn't enough to cool it, so we had a low profile AC installed and had them move the FF to the adjoining bathroom where we can run it there, with the door open, or just manually open the vent.

I also installed a Fantastic Fan w/remote and put MaxxAir fanmate cover over it so it can be operated when rainy as Dale said it does get the hot air out and with the windows opened a little it brings the cool air in,it can be reversed and work like a celing fan to make a nice breeze in the bedroom. this is my second one the first in my other motor home worked flawlessly for 15 yrs.I had one small problem when it was way out of warrantee they sent me the parts free.IMO they are the best company to do business with.

If you are looking for a bedroom fan, take a look at the Comfort Aire line. They are much quieter running than the fantastic fans. Maybe you can find an RV with one installed to listen to the difference.
Link is for the description, did not shop price.

You (usually) want the highest volume fan you can get (cfm's) and put it far from the sleeping area. If the fan is blowing out, and the only open windows are in the sleeping areas, the cooler outside air will be coming into those areas. don't just open all the windows at once, open the ones in the bedroom, and it will cool fairly quickly, the warm air from there will replace the how air in the rest of the trailer on the way to the fan. I opted for vent covers VS rain sensors on my trailer. I have one in the baster bathroom, one in the garage. with both of them on there is a nice breeze blowing in through the windows.

Not meant to hijack hread, but a quick question. Has anyone added a reverse switch to a fantastic fan? our unit came with two, one in bath and one in Mainroom. Bedroom has 2nd air. The coolest air is usually the highes off ground so pulling in from the top should be the fastest way to cool?! and out a window?!? Would this motor allow a simple 6 pole single throw switch to reverse polarity?

Our ff has both an air in and air out. Is that what you mean by a reverse switch?

X2. Our Montana came with three (3) fantastic fans and each with Maxx Air fan mate covers. In Texas last week they worked great!

I doubt the 5 feet between the window and roof outside have much of a temp difference. Heat rises, so pulling air off the ceiling would get the hottest air out of the RV first, with cooler outside air filling back in and tending to fall to the floor.
