Leaving for Ontario to Florida trip in 1.5 weeks. How do Canadians out there get around buying gas w/out a Zip Code?

It is not necessary to make anonymous purchases using your credit card, that is simply a convenience. You can use your card by presenting it to a real person, who has the opportunity to ask for other forms of identification (but hardly ever do, because stolen financial identities are most often used anonymously).

If your credit card does not work at the pump, you can go inside and prepay for a set amount (guess at how much it takes) and they will turn the pump on and it will shut off at the amount you have paid for. If it takes less, they will refund the difference. We have never had a problem with not getting fuel. A little more inconvenient but you will get fuel.
Some have said to add 2 zeros to the 3 digits in your Postal code, but that has never worked for us.
Enjoy Ft Wilderness and Disney, we are anxiously awaiting our next trip.

I've been told you can call your CC company and get a temporary zip code set-up. That way you can use it at the pump.

For what it's worth there are some sections of the US that have a high percentage of stations using zip code security but in many OTHER parts of the country it's actually somewhat rare (the mid west is one of those areas). May find one station in ten that requires zip code and when they do, as already mentioned just take the card inside to pay for fuel.

Pay with Cash!
We are finding more and more Staions that give a good Discount to Cash customers. Often 10 Cents a gallon!

A lot of stations are not or understaffed at night and only take credit cards with a zip code. Sometimes you can avoid the zip code by running it as debit and entering a PIN, but I think the best way is to either call your CC provider or use manned stations.

We've been traveling almost exclusively in the US for the past couple of years. I've found that gas stations close to interstates usually do not require a zip code. If I hit one that does, I will go inside and pre-pay a set amount that I know I will reach.

Ontario to Florida, you won't have any problems using the 3 digits of your postal code with two zero's at the end. In my case, K1V8T4 translates to 18400. Made the trip many times and have never been turned away from a pump. Many stations even have those instructions on the pumps now for Canadians.
