I am a Chrysler Engineer. Despite what others have said you'll have no problem towing that TT with your Ram 1500 Hemi. PM me if you would like to discuss further....

Sorry should have given more details. 2010 Dodge Ram crew cab 5.7L V-8 Hemi engine, tow package, electric brakes, 3.21 rear axle gear ratio and we want to pull a 6200 dry, 7000 loaded 35 ft Jayco Whitehawk.

STOP right there at "tow package"!

As far as dealers are concerned 'tow package' could mean as little as...a place to put the hitch assembly and nothing else!!!

A true "tow package" would be at least an uprated....cooling system and a rear axle ratio that is NOT 3.21?

There is a lot of help from 'posters' on here.

Regarding your wanting to pull a 35ft, your truck will be stuck in 3RD all day!!!

Please DO NOT mess about trying to adapt that TV, start again with a different TV if you want that 35ft as ya RV of choice!!!

ARE YOU ON SOMETHING MATE!

There is NO way Mr Chrysler Engineer, that TV is going to give a pleasant experience towing a 35ft RV!!!!!!

.....I forgot to mention, the Dodge 1500 from around 2010 onwards..."MUSHY" rear coils...will NOT HELP EITHER!!!

That is why from 2013 the Dodge 1500 is having a "Band-Aid" made available from the 'factory', sorry Mr Engineer you would call it a 'rear air suspension assist'...I call it having put rear coils on a North American Pick Up a big BOO BOO!!!

I registered for this forum just to put my 2 cents in. I run a '09 Ram 1500 CC Hemi with 3.92 gears. The truck started life with 3.21's but they killed the towing capability. With that one change and a properly adjusted weight distribution system (along with two old school friction sway controllers) the truck pulls fine, not great but fine. I'm pulling 7,000lb loaded. No exact idea of tongue weight but adjusted properly, my helwig helper springs don’t even touch the stops.

One last point, the only difference in towing limits for the 1500 are the rear-end ratios. There is no "towing package" for the '09 1500 as it already has the separate trans cooler and HD cooling.

Believe me, I worry about everything and I've researched this to no end. The gear switch is expensive but for me, worth every penny
