I spent a week there and promised a HOBO rating for the park.
My initial impression was three hobo's and grew to 4 Hobo's at the end of the week (out of possible 5 Hobo's). This park is not a 5 Hobo park like Yellowstone, but definitely worth a stop if passing near by. I know I will.
The drive on 12 to Bryce is worth a 5 Hobo rating. I did shift into 1st gear on some down hills and the transmission popped me into 2nd any way due to the incline. Just go slow and enjoy the most incredible journey.
Have not been to Bryce yet but based on a trip cross country 3 decades ago I can guarantee a 5 Hobo rating for Bryce.

Gotta ask - a HOBO rating means??
We visited Bryce a couple of years ago. Definitely a 5 (assuming a 5 is the top rating).

My WIFE said I looked like a HOBO one day (I think it was the beard)
I staerted rating Arches and Moab on a possible 5 HOBO rating and they got a 5 Hobo rating.
I will continue the HOBO rating of NPs and other places.
You can laugh all you want but wife now says I look like a mountain man and not a Hobo

So... is a 5 HOBO campground a place where only bums would stay?

Dan, while you were in Torrey, did you stop at the Cafe Diablo? It ranks as one of our biggest surprises while RVing.

Definitely agree on the rating we spent three days there two weeks ago. Beautiful campground, great host. Stayed an extra day because we enjoyed it so much. Visited Capital Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion N.P'S. Loved the HooDoo's in Bryce.

Ate there twice. Yes, odd to find a place like that in a small town like Torrey.
BTW my Hobo rating system is for the NPs and scenic drives not CGs. I have a funny feeling I will have a HARD time finding a low rated NP (except Everglades NP in the summer - There is a reason they waive the entrance fee in the summer)

Dan, you've got more guts than I do by going over 12 in a motorhome. The one spot where the drops are severe and the road is narrow with no guardrails had me a bit white knuckled in an SUV so I can't imagine doing it in a rig with a toad.
I like your rating system BTW. Even some of the state parks in Utah deserve 5 Hobos. Your rating system reminded me of a restaurant chain in AZ in the late 60's called Hobo Joe's.
