we're in the Amarillo Overnight Park this evening, a park we've been in many times. Part of the attraction, for me anyway, is the park sits under the flight path for planes departing and arriving at the Rick Husband Intl Airport. if i'm lucky the Texas Air National Guard is flying. i was lucky tonight.

video link
he was no more than 300-500 feet above the park. they *should* charge extra for this!

there's now a link to the video in my original post. couldn't tell which aircraft it was. anyone know for sure? a few years back when we were overnighting in this park there was a 2-hr parade of Texas ANG aircraft returning from a presumed training mission. THAT was stupendous.

We use to camp in Oscoda MI when there was a USAF base there. Some days the fighters flew over all day or made there run down the down the Au Sable River That was fun. Today the base is gone and have not been to that campground in years.

I grew up in the flight path at Tinker Air Force Base. I don't really enjoy the roar of the planes anymore, but it does remind me of my childhood! On another note, saw just about every current military plane out there flying over...

Two things I could sit and watch all day, an airport and a river w/ boat traffic.

Looks more like a C-141 to me. The angle makes it hard to determine. I also lived in a flight pattern for McCord AFB and loved it. Still love the sounds of planes overhead. Yup, live in the 500/500 flight pattern for Warner Robins AFB now.

C-5 I have them flying over my house every day. I'm 10 miles from the base. They love doing their turns over our neighborhood, also see the helicopters fly over along with the fighter jets. They still have the TANG at Kelly.
