We too live under a airport flight path! I realized how much I missed the 'noise' of the AFB planes as well as the Albuquerque International Airport planes on 9/11! It was eerie without the sound. Then when the Air Force planes started flying it was a relief! I will NEVER complain about the noise! I love hearing all of them. The DH and I sit outside in the afternoons watching them and try to guess what they are without looking!

Enjoy! We do!

God Bless America! And the people who serve!

Most of the time the sound of the C-5 Galaxy engines are soothing until it turns into a high pitch scream and you think the plane is going to crash on your house. You run outside only to see it start banking into a turn toward the airport to do a touch and go. It doesn't bother me anymore unless i hear something out of the ordinary.

Grew up right next to Griffis AFB in Rome, NY. I'll never forget seeing and hearing all the B52's flying to Vietnam and back.
That is why I joined the Army!

Looks more like a C-141 to me. The angle makes it hard to determine. I also lived in a flight pattern for McCord AFB and loved it. Still love the sounds of planes overhead. Yup, live in the 500/500 flight pattern for Warner Robins AFB now.

C-141's were retired in May of 2006

They have been replaced by the C-17...

Fpor 5-6 years we lived in the flight paths of B-52's. I could look up and almost tell if the pilot had used dental floss. Loved it! Its too long a story to tell here but I am convinced that that I saved a B-52 from crashing.
