Specifically to MaverickBBD, I really appreciated your earlier response. However, it dawned on me that the subject of trip planning has a lot more aspects than technology and tools, so there might be a broader group and wider range of thoughts offered in this sub-forum. It seems that was correct. I know I've learned something from the sharing and I hope others have as well. I know there are more good ideas out there.

My guess would be that double posting is not allowed.
We choose an area for scenery, activities or sites and then start research. We do much research on the internet but do do ask on the forum, as there are those on here that have been there and know whether the internet info is just hype or worth seeing. This forum also gives you some info that is sometimes not found on or hard to find on the internet.

The one resource for RVers that is missing on the Internet is RV routing. You can route a trip with Google but it does not take allow you to specify the height and weight of the RV and that it is an RV that cannot ride on certain roads that restrict RVs and trucks or bridges and tunnels that do not permit propane. Other than an RV specific GPS there is really nothing that does this - or does this completely with full driving directions listing exits, turns, and warnings. To find this on an RV trip planning site would be great!

X2 In addition to the RV friendly routes with the truck stops mentioned in my previous post. In the old days maps with clear overlays were handy. A similar program could be accomplished.
