Does anyone tow a fifth wheel with a tonneau cover on? I have seen some people do this is the tri fold covers open 2/3 of the way. This to me seems that there would not be a way to use the front of the bed between the hitch and the cab. I have also seen the roll up style covers but they just look messy when rolled up. Any suggestions?

Currently have a roll up that sits nice and tight to the cab. Works good.

Years ago, I had a cover that had a center panel that fit around the hitch. Also had a weather seal that closed the bed up either towing or not. That was great as everything in the truck was out of sight and dry. As far as I know, company is no longer in business as I tried to fnd them.

I have a short Bed F250 with Superglide hitch and have a Bakflip g2 tonneau. I can either use it in it's folded horizontal position, or vertical position depending on what I have in the front of the bed. It can be raised while the trailer is attached also. When it's folded up it's about the height of one of the newer lower profile tool boxes.

I also have a roll up that is very water tight and rolls up tight and neat to the cab. Those that looks messy are not rolled up properly, are cheap covers or the owner just does not care.

Plan on using my retrax roll up bed cover with ours. Leave it opened when towing. But when unhooked just pull it back and everything is out of site and out of mine. Plus will be adding the extra fuel tank under it also.

Yes siree, Bob. I had a Pace Edwards Cover on my previous Pick-up. I was o.k. as I could set it (actually roll it) back into a position just in front of my hitch while towing my 5er. The cover on my present truck - is much better for it folds into four parts and rest tightly, locked to a secure spot well in front of my hitch. Don't know the make or model of this cover but it has the markings (Logo) of Dodge RAM - and was installed by my Dodge dealer.

Bottom line keeps the bed and contents 'out of sight and out of mind'.

p.s. That Pace Edwards cover leaked in rain water and rattled while towing. My new one does not. I like it - a lot!!

I have a Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit roll type tonneau cover on mine. Normally I leave it fully open when towing. But I often put two 26" bikes laying in the bed in front of the hitch. When I do that and if I plan to stop somewhere and be away from the truck, I will roll the top back near the hitch and lock it so the bikes can't walk away. Can also tow with it rolled back near the hitch if I want to keep the bikes (or any thing else) covered and out of sight.
By "messy" I assume you are talking about the soft covers when rolled up.
