The latching hardware in my egress windows in my Passport is probably more robust than any other latch in it. It consists of a flat metal bar that passes through the window frame and folds over to rest in a little hook. There's really nothing to wear out other than the rivet that acts as the hinge on the bar, and it's pretty big.

I've only Googled them, but my impression was that they weren't designed for frequent opening. The ones I saw were sliders, that could also unlatch for egress, that's all.
Still learning here.

So, does anybody in the states make something similar to the Seitz/Dometic windows?

Don't know, I'll try to check tonight. It's a 2012 Keystone Passport 238MLWE made in Pendleton, OR. They can't be that expensive, they are very simple and its a pretty cheap trailer.
They don't slide at all, they just open outward and are hinged at the top. The latch is a bar at the bottom protruding through the frame. They have a stop for a ventilation position or you can push the bar all the way through to get out.

I think mine are either Kinro 2000 series or Kinro VEPW:

Thanks, Bartlett!
It looks like the Kinro VEPW is just what we need. They have snap in screens, right?
Pop off the screen - open window to desired angle - pop screen back in?

Yes, the screens are snap in and very easy to remove and install.

Sorry I haven't updated this thread. Been busy fighting cancer and trying to build a camper.
Took the advice of you good folks in this thread and went with egress windows with removable screens. You were all right. I didn't need the expensive Seitz-Dometic windows after all.
Thanks for the good advice!
