4 axles rates (truck + tandem axle trailer are going up to $20 and $24 on the Golden Gate Bridge. Seems excessive to charge a landcaper with a tandem axle trailer the same as a heavy commerical trailer. Some tolls can be avoided if you plan your route accordingly.

Ah, now I remember why I don't drive my RV into California. Seems like the fuel prices are just a bit higher too? $4.10-4.60 for regular and diesel at 4.50-4.99.
Add in the ridiculous taxes and I know why I haven't been RVing in California for many years, and won't be doing it again before the west coast splits off and floats to Hawaii. They can charge whatever they want. Don't want it, don't need it, won't do it.

OH, where are we at now? Monterey...headed for San Fran....up to Redding...then off to Oregon never to return to CA..highest campground rates, highest fuel rates, highest groceries, worst roads--stick a fork in me, done!

I remember visiting in 1989 driving my 70 Thunderbird over the Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate, and the San Rafael bridge on the same day....and don't think it cost me more than $8 combined.

Relocated my Mom to live with me back in 1991 as she resided in the Sonoma and Lake County areas at the time...I left Los Angeles in 1982 as it will be my 30th year in Alaska.

How things significantly change in California, but then again....all prices are increased everywhere.

This site lays out the current and post-July 1 toll charges increases on the GG Bridge:

http://goldengatebridge.org/tolls_traffic/toll_rates_carpools.php

Note that the toll is charged in the *southbound* direction only.

Prices for just about *every commodity* are increasing *everywhere*, not just in California.

Heading up that way tonight to Santa Rosa. I'll go up 280 to 19th and over the Golden Gate and then head home over the Richmond San Rafael Bridge though the East Bay on Sunday - no tolls and good roads all the way! Well almost - Oakland is still under construction last time through!
