I was told yesterday when I picked up the MH that I had to sign up for the extended warrantee that day.
But as I read the literature that came with the frig, I can sign up through Norcold for a 1-4 year extended warrantee anytime before the 1 yr. limited warrantee expires.
I am hearing that if Chris Bryant recommends it, I should take that advice. Thanks for the advice.

To be clear- I recommend the warranty from Norcold (or Dometic)- *not* an aftermarket one. The manufacturers extended warranties are not sold on commission or markup.

We have had ours for 8 years with only one problem. We pulled into a site for an overnight stay and did not level. The frig has an auto protection system built in which locks out the cooling system if it is unlevel for an extended period and you try to reset it manually. We didn't know that and a tech had to show us how to reset toe auto protection system with a jumper wire. We have carried the wire and instructions ever since, but never had the problem again.

Are you saying I should or shouldn't get the warranty from Norcold? Or is that considered an aftermarket one. I'm not sure I understand.
Thanks, Chris.

Hi Chris,
Do not buy the warranty from a "third party". Buy it directly from Norcold.

If someone says I need an extended warranty because a product isn't as well made as it used to be, I always ask why I should buy the thing in the first place, because the maker has chosen to cut corners deliberately. That tends to hush them up.

It is my opinion that everything we buy today is not made as good as it used to be. It all has more technology but also has more to fail.
