If you had read my last post you know this is my first time dry camping! so how long can I run the generator? with out shuting it down its a oldschool diesel generator with no temperature gage. all I can do Is keep water in it And hope i dont lost a fan belt. yes I worrie alot but I did put the gen turi pipe on.

It will probably be determined by the campground rules where you're staying.

x2 otherwise you can run it till you run out of fuel, or something finally wears out and it breaks. (or until it needs an oil change)

skip they said we can run all night if we like. but can the gen set handle running for a long time or do I need to let it rest?

I can't think of any reason a generator needs to 'rest'.

Let it run as look as it's needed.

However, the batteries should handle a lot of the housekeeping loads unless you need AC. Running the gen set without any load is somewhat counter productive.

Just run it for 3 hours in the middle of the day, you don't need to run it 24 X 7.

Switch it off at night - nothing worse than an inconsiderate camper running a generator all night long.

Why would you need it to run all night. Nothing against generators have one of my own but in 20 plus years of camping I have never run mine all night.

Just curious.

If maintained as recommended it will run 24/7 as long as there is fuel. When I dry camp there are times when I run the gen for 5 days straight.

If you are down south you would need it 24/7 for AC in some locations.
