I think it really depends on the size of the U-Dinette. My parents have a Weekend Warrior 40FTL and it has the U-Dinette and we can only get 3 of us in there comfortably (we are not small people either ) the problem is the people sitting on the back side hit knees with the people on the side. I much prefer the standard dinette that we have in ours. But if it was a bigger one, I could see how it might be nice. Thats just my experience!

FWIW, our regular dinette with 2 bench seats is too small for 4 regular sized adults. DW & I fit just fine, but would not attempt 4 people.

We have a u dinette and love it. Tt is 32ft and also has a couch. The dinette drops down into a queen size bed great when we have guest over night. Have also used it as a second couch in bad weather. Coachmen was sold a few years ago and our model is no longer sold. Good luck in your tt shoping. Happy camping

I have a standard dinette in my TT. I just grab a folding lawn chair and set it up on the end of the table for a extra seat when needed.

My old TT had a regular dinette and fitting 4 people was tight.
Our new TT has a U-Dinette. 4 people can sit with room to spare but I would not say we could fit 5. And DW & I are 'regular' sized!

We've got a standard dinette in our MH - cramped.
Friends have a U shaped dinette in their Wildwood T26TBUD. It's very nice. We've had 6 around it pretty easily (an additional chair on the open end)
Definitely a feature I'd recommend.

We've had both, and we much prefer the U shaped for a family of five.

The u shape is way better. It works really well for just laying on too. I've had both.

I must be in the minority. My Coleman pop up, Starcraft hybrid, and Coachmen TT all had booth dinettes. They always sat 4 reasonably. I got my new Keystone TT and it has the U-dinette. I really dislike it and find that all it seats is about 3 or 4 with a chair on the open end. I am average size too I suppose...5'9" and 170 lbs. The 2012 model of my TT switched from a U to a Booth. If anyone wants to trade I am all ears I miss the booth style I had in the others.
