I recently bought the LED lights on EBAY.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-BA15S-1156-1141-Dome-bulb-36-1210-SMD-LED-Warm-White-/180700180305?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1291ef51
I turned on battery power and started to replace the lights. I have the standard camper lights that burn the 1141 bulb. Some of my interior lights on the camper have a switch on the wall that first must be on for the switch on the light assembly to work. Well, the replaced lights with the switch on the wall worked, however the lights that just work by the switch on the assembly did not work. I put the 1141 bulbs back in and the worked fine. Anybody have any idea why this might be happening? I am stumped.

Reverse polarity, switch the wires on the light itself and see if it works. Or use jumper wires on the light first to test it. LED's will not work if hooked up backwards, a regular bulb will.
Show me the GRILL and STAND BACK!!!!

If you have a voltmeter check the voltage at the light socket. The positive 12v should be on the single contact while the negative is on the base.

Thanks for the info. So it would have been hooked up backwards from the factory? Is that normal? The lights that do work look great. Cheapest price I have found.

Some light assemblies have both bulb socket side (normally ground) and insulated side insulated and so do not rely on a mounting screw to ground the light assembly. In the case of these units, since polarity does not matter to a standard incandescent bulb, the factory may not have bothered about polarity.
I'd try switching the polarity or test with a voltmeter as suggested.

Forgot to mention: I used the same type of LED in our rig but ours came with other adapters so simply made large bayonet adapters from some old bulb bases. Easy & it was a good project of my 16 year old to practice soldering.
Mine were $2.25 Canadian currency each: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/320846428438?ssPageName=STRK EWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Yes from the factory it could have been reversed. Since normal filiment 1141 bulbs will run either way thy don't or didn't need to check polarity at the lights.
