Today we returned from a trip to see our son and when we walked into the house the temperature was on 78.  By the time the a/c repairman came this afternoon the inside temp was 82.  After diaognosing it was the compressor, we walked out to the side yard and got into our air conditioned moho. It was a life saver.  We can now stay cool  until it is repaired tomorrow. . . and if not we can always stay until it is fixed.
Fanman. . . usually blowing a lot of hot air!

I'm sorry that you were uncomfortable and glad it worked out...
but....
82F just doesn't seem like a bad situation, unless of course there are medical conditions etc.
Glad it all worked out for you though!
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

A/C is good, I sure love ours when emergency repairs, shut-off water for several hours.

82 in Texas is hot as it is in Tennessee. In the California desert, 82 is very comfortable. We are in CA and the outside temp has been in the upper 80's to low 90's for the high...no air needed. The temp drops as soon as the sun goes down so we are cool again.
Personally, I like it 68-70 in the house in the summer and virtually no heat in the winter. I can't stand heat. I leave the desert in the summer as it can easily be 115+. Even though our house has 7 units, I can cool the parts that I use and not use all the units.

I would have done the same as the op. Anything above 72 degrees indoors is too hot for us.

Yup, it is a life boat some times. When summer storms took out electricity with trees falling on power lines and 90 plus degrees of humid weather at the cottage it was easy to start the generator and turn on the air and in addition run an extension cord out the window for the refrigerator and stay comfortable and save the food. I had TV and internet and was fine. Neighbors stopped by to check on me and seemed to stay longer than usual. Ha.

We do the same thing. Happend to us twice. Cant get the home warrenty company to condem the unit so we will probably be out in it again this year. Dosnt bother us though its like camping in our yard.

Multitasker. My coach doubles as a life boat. Last year when the hurricane Irene came thru power was out for three days in late August. South eastern Virginia in late August is not the most comfortable place without AC.

Our Cambria saved us last year when the hurricane killed the power for a week. Just went out to the RV, fired up the genny and we were all set.
