I didn't use them and Michelins had serious cracks in sidewalls after 4 years in Socal sun.

You can probably apply 303 to your tires once a month and protect them just as well as covers, since it's the UV rays that actually do the damage.

I don't like to mess with covers ... I've actually moved the rig a couple of times forgetting to take them off!

I've never owned an RV long enough to watch the tires age from birth to death. I used covers on a Class A but they were a PITA and I didn't put them on while out camping, only at home. I'm not totally convinced, but some believe lack of use causes premature aging of tires, too.

Never used covers. Our RV sits in the Texas sun, tires are 10+ years old and the outside of then are just now cracking. Also only washed the tires with soap and water, no type of protectent put on them.

Been using cover for years and also put 303 on the tires before and after. Tires look great and in over 35 years have not had a blow out from deterioration of a tire. My father-in-law got me started covering tires 25 years ago when the rig sat for more than 30 days.

I think covering helps, and I cover between trips and on long campground stays.
I also think that frequent USE of the tires also helps, probably more than any other factor except adequate air pressure. We made a pact: Use the coach at least monthly. This is good for US, let alone tires, brakes and so on. Driving on the tires, warming them up and flexing them, keeps their oils worked throughout the tire.
Previous coach had sat for extended periods and blew a tire shortly after we bought it. The PepBoys "Futura Scrambler" (entry level) tires we put on it looked good after eight years in FL. We didn't cover those, but we used the coach every couple weeks or so.
Covering the FRONTS also keeps rainwater splash off the front disk brakes.

Didn't cover mine on the TT and they cracked along with the spare that was never used and completely covered. Makes a difference, who knows. I am willing to spend a little on covers to hopefully prevent cracking and associated major cost.
