Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me how hard it would be to maybe rewire my camper? I have no experience. I thought it might be nice to have working.

Give us more information on the issues involved. Total rewire, partial, what problems are you experiencing?

KY,

More information is needed.
What kind of camper?
What doesn't work now?

A rewire is probably not required, but repair may well be.

Easy, if you know what you are doing.

Impossible, if you don't know what you are doing.

Only you know your skills.

Depending on your camper, 1956 Holiday Rambler according to your profile, it could be just a lot of work to next to impossible. Many RVs are wired before it is fully built and wires are run inside walls and maybe fastened in impossible to get at places without tearing the RV apart.

As others have said, it depends.

Not impossible. I've gotten lots of OTJ self-training, not knowing anything going in, even in wiring. Of course, something as important from a safety perspective, I've sought out proper installation information, code, etc. But it's not impossible.

MsMandyJohnson, do please let us know what kind of problem you're having, as a total rewire indeed sounds like using a sledge hammer when trying to nail a picture hanger on a wall.

Sorry guys I should have informed you more. Ok, I don't know what works and what don't. My camper is a 1956 Holiday Rambler. I do not have an extension cord to plug into. So there is no plug for me to test for the electric. So I think I need to start there. The only thing I see for sure is there are three wires that i dug out of the camper. As soon as my phone uploads the pic of the wires. I will post it.

Is there someone in your area that can help you? It sounds like you have a lot of issues with this project and zero knowledge. I think you need a hands on helper that understands these things. If you are at a campground you will find that most fellow campers are just as friendly and helpful as the ones on this forum. Someone local will have the advantage of seeing what you have and what needs done.

If I remember correctly you were asking about putting a plug on the trailer some time back.

This is not a very good picture, but it shows the 3 wires that I dug out of the camper. There is no other cord attached to this. So u only see the wires sticking out. I don't know how to maybe go about repairing this. Any help is awesome.
