Just curious as to what most people use for a portable generator. I have been looking at the Honda EU3000 is. We have dual air conditioners and know that it will only power one. Was wondering if anyone is using the EU2000i in parallel with another one. Trying to figure which is the best deal to go with. Have only one to set up with less power or two to set up and have power MAYBE for both AC's. Thanks for the suggestions !!

Hi Trixie,

I'd look at the Yamaha 3000 SEB (the one that has boost).

Amps from twin Honda 2k units continuous are 26, not likely enough to run two air conditioners.

Stay away from Boliy--mine won't start at 30 F reliably.

I'd love to have one of the quiet inverter types but I'm cheap and we will be using a used Champion 3500/4000 when we HAVE to. Hopefully I can get one of our solar panels up so the Champ can just sit there quietly.

Check out the Dometic 3000 like I have. Runs my 15K air without a problem & is quiet, although not as quiet as the hondas. The best part is the price, under $800 online. It also is an inverter & comes with electric start.

We have ran our HONDA EU 1000 trouble free for more years than I can recall. If I was in the market I would seriously consider Yamaha. Both are good quality and most important Quiet. I just cannot understand the folks that run the loud generators for all to hear. It's just rude in my opinion. Unless you are nascar camping.

if you want to run two a/c's, then a pair of paralled Honda or Yamaha or Champion 2000w inverter generators would be the best choice.

if you don't need the a/c, then you only need to take one. and they weigh only about 50lb. each.

We have the 2 honda 2000 with parallel kit. We only have one A/C (15000) so I can't speak to running two. I've had the A/C on while running a portable air compressor, ceiling fan, vacuum,TV, lights, laptop while doing some remodeling of the 5th wheel, all of this was being used while the 2 hondas were in parallel.

What I like most about having the 2.... I can take just one if we're going where A/C won't be needed. Plus I can use one or both for other projects where commercial power isn't available, like working on a buddy's remote cabin.

Even with the two running at full throttle, they aren't as loud as the Onan 4K Emerald we originally had in the 5th wheel.

Honestly your going to have a tough time running two AC's off one gen unless you step up to something like the Honda Eu6500i.

I have two EU2000's with the parallel kit. They work fantastic. They are much easier to load and unload than the 3000. It's pretty hard to beat a Honda. As well I built an extended run fuel tank. I can run the two for days without having to refuel. Go with the two Honda's
