I can't get a site in Yellowstone for my summer dates so I am looking for reccomendations for campgrounds in the West Yellowstone area. Any help would be appreciated. I have a 40 ft MH and a car.

The two nice commercial parks are Grizzly (overrated, but popular with older people, has no amentities, no pool or hot tub, but in town and has nice sites), and the KOA slightly out of town (very nice indoor pool with adult hot tub).
Here are all the parks in West Yellowstone:

If you want a pool and hot tub, then Grizzy is not the place for you. Otherwise I think they have very good amenities. The laundry room is great and when we were there with our kids the people working were some of the nicest and welcoming staff I have ever encountered at an RV Park. I thought the value was also good as the sites are paved and extremely nice and well maintained. We went with Grizzly rather than the KOA because it was more important for us to be in the town and walking distance to the shops, Yellowstone entrance, etc. Don't remember the name but there is another park in town that gets pretty good ratings also but I don't believe they have a pool either.

We stayed at the Bakers Hole Forest Service park about 5 miles out of town. I think they have some sites with electric. Don't remember if any have water and sewer or not.
Our friends were camp hosts and the concessionaire let us use a full hookup vacant camp host site next to our friends site for $5 a day.
We stayed about ten days and really enjoyed the area.

Electric "only" sites at Baker's Hole(other than those host sites). Just for another option, outside of West Yellowstone in Idaho( a 20 minute drive) there are a number of options, Henry's Lake, water and electric......Red Rock CG, full service....Valley View CG, Full service.....to name a few. Another option is Henry's Lake State Park, Idaho. 15 miles west on US20. Beautiful setting on the lake, surrounded by mountains.

Baker's Hole National Forest campground and Henry's Lake State Park are great for our 40' motorhome if a "natural setting" is what you like.

I resent the comment about Grizzly RV being populat for the older people. My wife and I love Grizzly RV and end up there two to three times a year.
Anyway, I would highly recommend Grizzly RV Park but I also know they fill up with reservations very fast. Depending on when you want to go they may not have any available sites at this time.
The KOA is alright but personally that particular one is not the same as it was 10 years ago. This is why we started going to Grizzly.
If you want to head south of West Yellowstone about a half hour there is a really nice campground called Red Rock RV Park just at the south side of Island Park. It is located about five miles off of highway 191 and is a very nice park off the beaten path. The owners are fantastic and very accomodating people. I would give them a try.

another vote here for Henry's Lake State Park. elec, water and a dump station and clean bathrooms/bathhouses. Good fishing, too, if you're so inclined. Those hybrid trout taste great.

We stayed at the Rusty Wagon, and were very pleased with it. Owners were nice and helpful. WiFi was not good.
