I have a RoadMaster Falcon 2 tow bar system. This unit has the quick disconnects. I also have a Road Guard shield. Now the question is: What do you leave in place when you disconnect to go to diner or for a drive? Do you take it all off of the toad or leave the cross bar in place? Do you stuff all of this stuff in the toad or stow it in the RV? I am just trying to think in advance.
Thanks for your opinions in advance

I leave the cross bar in place.

No shield since the car was new in 04, and now with 55K towing miles there has been no need on 2 rigs.

I believe RM has supports that would allow you to mount the rock shield on the rig's hitch when it's parked. If not then you could make some.

In the 8 years that Ive had the "quick disconnects", Ive taken them off once. Ive had many ask me, "what are those bars on the front of your car?".....makes for a good conversation starter but of course the people asking are Not RV'ers.

I take the crossbar and quick disconnects off once a year to inspect the baseplate. Other than that they stay on Libby 24/7/365.

I have not had the tow bar off of my Jeep wrangler in at least 10 years. It is locked on and I don't have clue where the key is.

If you take it off you gotta do something with it. I just leave it on.

I leave the crossbar on, padlocked to the baseplate. Don't know about the shield because I don't have one.

I leave the bar on the toad for short intervals. It's padlocked.
