Ok, so I see these things at Walmart for $20 or so (Camco) and I see them on quite a few trailers. Do they just allow you to leave your roof vent all the way open in the rain or just help keep debris out while they're open? Are they really worth installing? Camco Vent

I think they are worth it, I keep my roof vents open all the time for ventilation. Keeps rain out. Got 3 on mine. Only 20 bucks.

I have three MAXXAIR's on mine. All three vents stay open almost all year long. Never had any rain come in on them. The CAMCO's should give you the same result.

Shouldn't that help when it's stored in the winter to not develop mold? I kept them slightly cracked with one of those moisture absorbing cans of stuff inside.

Maxxairs on mine keep them open rain or shine helps in keeping temp down when stored. A good investment also helps save the vent covers from the sun that rots them.

3 Maxxair here also, felt the quality was better than the Camco. Maxxair was on my prior trailer and held up well even when we had small hail storm.

I have 3 covers on mine and keeper them open all the time in storage and when towing. No mold issues and helps keep heat down when towing on hot days. I never have had water come in.

Oh yeah...worth it and easy to install. However, be sure you get the correct cover if you cover your High volume fantastic fan. You don't want to restrict the cover from opening completely and cause the fan to not move enough volume of air.
