We went from a Pace Arrow, top gasser in Fleetwood to the Mountain Aire Gasser. What we gained in the change I will list partially.
1. ducted AC means very little noise with the AC running VS having to turn up the TV in the Pace whenever an AC was running.
2. Extra insulation in the walls, ceilings and floors. We sometimes have to check the outside temp now where we could always tell in the Pace just by putting a foot on the floor.
3. Thermo pane windows that keep out cold, heat and sound and they weren't made by SEGI.
4. When people ask about keeping the bedroom dark we have no porblem there with pulldown shades that have dark and darker.
5. We can carry on a conversation without yelling while driving at 60mph. That we couldn't do previously because the Pace engine compartment was not soundproofed as well.
6.The trim and wood is real and not flakeboard with a paper ccovering to look like wood. I put a stair rail on to help us getting in the MH and it was solid wood every place for anchoring.
As soon as I post this I will think of something else.

I purchased a entry level Winnebago Vista 35F last fall and took a 10 week trip to Florida over the winter. We had no problems with either the coach or the Ford chassis. There was a problem with one of the toppers when we picked it up that they are replacing, it was torn and when we first bought it the cab air didn't work and that was fixed at a Ford dealer under warranty. Winnebago is easy to get in touch with and answer your questions immediately and so far no problem with their warranty. For a low price unit, I would highly recommend a Winnebago Vista. The Ford V-10 has more than enough power to handle the 35 ft. unit up and down the mountains of W.Va., Va., and North Carolina towing a Jeep Liberty. Maybe something will break on it tomorrow but as of today it's been a great unit, turned 4,000 miles on it yesterday.
The Ford V10's built 2006 and later,are in a class by themselves. Before 2006 most gassers were not that great. With 362 HP and a torque curve that produces power over a wide RPM range,there is no need to consider a diesel. Newmar builds coachs from entry level,up to over $500,000. The same building methods and materials go into all. When ever anyone asks us what brand our MH is,their eyebrows allways go up,when we say Newmar.

Just to add a contrasting opinion. The ONLY thing I'm unhappy about with my class A is it can't tow the pickup I'd like to use as a toad. The RV is only rated@5k #towing.

I have had a Fleetwood Bounder for 3 years with the Workhorse chassis and couldn't be happier! The quality and engineering is good, handles very well and the 8.1 GM 340hp engine has plenty of power and is very quiet on the highway. Just returned to MI from southern UT via I-15/I-80 (1900 miles) and averaged close to 9mpg towing. Talk to Bounder owners and I think you find, as I did, a great deal of brand loyalty and repeat buyers. Good luck!

I agree, I think the new 3 valve-per-cylinder heads and updated intake manifold Ford gave the V10s in 2006 changed the game quite a bit.
As one that towed a large TT with the older V10 in an Excursion and now have driven a 36' MH towing a 4400 lb minivan toad behind it with the new V10...I'm here to tell you the new V10 is considerably more powerful. Will pretty much go as fast as I want to, and doesnt seem to hardly notice much whether or not we're towing the van behind us.
Hmmm...What if they were to come out with a rear engine pusher V10 gas model, with air suspension, etc. that the big DPs have?
Nah, I still wouldn't want it, 'cause I don't like having the engine in the back. Makes maintenance too much of a PITA, and makes it almost impossible to have a window on your back wall in the bedroom. That, and they frequently put the door at the very front, in front of passenger seat on pusher models. I HATE that arrangement, makes it feel like you're driving a big greyhound or school bus, haha!
What makes you buy the******about gassers? I have a V10 Ford and it pulls mountains in cruise control passes diesel trucks and my biggest complaint is the noise from the doghouse. Blew a tire and had perfect control to a rolling stop.
