You walk into an "Antique Store" or Homesteader/Pioneer Museum, and most of the stuff on display are things you used when you were a kid!

Even worse is when you know more about items in an antique store or a museum than the employees or curators do.

Ayone here ever patch an automtive inner tube using a vulcanizing patch kit, the kind you had to light with a match? I indentified a repair kit like that once for a museum in the Flagstaff area. They had no clue what it was. Daddy taught me how to use them. I've done the same with early tools.

If only we had kept some of that old "junk."

Yes. Many times.
How many have seen a "tube type" tire recently, other than on a bicycle or motorcycle?

My Dad is retired and lives in Lake Havasue. Not to long ago I visited him and we went out for a brunch at his favorite place. He ordered from the senior menu and so did I.
after a minute Dad looked at me and said " aint this a b!tch"
I said what, and he shook his head and said"Its pretty bad, when your boy takes you out to eat and you both order from the senior menu."

Patching tires? Yep. It was a common thing to have to patch an inner tube along side of the road. Tubeless tires were just about as likely to go flat. Tire irons are now collectible. Heavy tire pumps like bicycle tire pumps. Really work up a sweat, in July and no air conditioning.

You know you're old when late night TV is anything that comes on after 9:00PM.
