Used to run it a lot as a trucker, pulling near 80,000# GVWR loads from Denver to Flagstaff. With that much weight, I'd get under that trailer before I left and made sure my brakes were properly adjusted. After I was confident I could enjoy the slow ride. Winter time and night time.
Now I see what I missed last summer. Instead of taking the Wolf Creek Pass route I came up on US-64 from the Taos area to Pagosa Springs. Then headed over to Durango and north on Hwy 550. I'd say that 550 more than made up for it.
