I am finally ready to order my PUGS now that I got the trailer out of storage and finally took the sizes. A couple of questions for those who already use them. Is it worth the extra money for the Super High Wind covers? Also has anyone else from Canada ordered them and did they arrive ok and in good time?
Thanks
Steve

Hey Steve. We have the super high ones, since we have super high wind in NM. So far, while they have moved around a bit, they haven't blown off.

We had the high wind option on our former HTTTH. It really worked well, I recommend it.

Put it this way .... if you get the Super High Wind ones you are good for most situations. You don't want to get the clipped ones and end up in a high wind situation and then have the whole thing blow away in the middle of the night.
PUGs are not cheap to begin with, so if you are buying them anyway it makes no sense to me to scrimp on the upgrade.
We have the SHW ones are are happy in how they are secured to the bunk end. I do not regret getting them.

We have the high wind version - guess this was before the Super High Wind. Ours use both clips and bungies. Generally speaking, if we know it's going to be strong winds, we probably would choose to stay home - DH and his contacts do not enjoy strong, dusty wind. We've had only 1 time when DH went out and removed the rear bunk Gizmo before it had a chance to blow off - 50 mph winds hitting straight on the rear. The cost difference is not significant and I would suggest going with the best your budget will allow. Ours are starting - if we ever get out of the driveway, ugh - their 7th year and look like brand new. A good investment!

We live near Kingston Ontario and our pugs arrived quickly. We think they are great, I think they are the high wind kind but not the super high wind. Service was great we highly recommend the pugs.

I'm thinking about buying the high wind option myself, but curious on how difficult they are to get on. I have a Shamrock 233s and I'm worried about the height of the bunkends. I had these with my Coleman Niagra and didn't hardly put them on because of how much of a pain they were to install each time. I see that the high wind has bungee's and may be easier to put on take off, but want to hear feedback. The main reasons for getting these is to protect the bunkends and to keep the inside cool...especially the third bunk end that doesn't get a lot of air.

We received our first set of SHW PUGs last week. They came in 8 business days (we live in south western Ontario). We just installed them for the first time and we didn't even need a step ladder (we have a 17z Jayco). Easy as pie!

We use the sportsmans space blankets from cabelas ,15 bucks each held on with binder clips from office depot. the fit is just right and saved money. The bunk ends are kinda high depending on how level the site is so we bring a lil 3 step stool ... The pugs are great and when i was going to order them they were going on vacation and i was getting ready for a july 4th heatwave so cabelas to the rescue..

I was going to order GIZMOS for my OFF-ROAD POPUP and the high cost just killed me. I went with the 9X12 tarp idea held in place with stretch ropes. Really has survived good in strong winds... I connect the top section in a builtin rain gutter using stretch rope before I raise the roof. Even allows me to setup and tear down during a rainstorm - always working under the tarp. Another neat thing is I can put up BLUE, GREEN, SILVER, or BROWN tarps when I need a color change. Probably not as pretty as a real GIZMOS but sure keeps it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter and realy helps with the condensation problems associated with fabic tops....
