Is it legal to pull a 18' fishing boat behing a travel trailer? I know I've seen some large RVs towing cars and what not.
I have a 1989 F150 with new tires. My parents passed onto me a 31 foot Jayco trailer and I've had the fishing boat.
We plan on going to Southern Indiana for a bass tourney, and I'd really love to pull both the travel trailer and the boat.

It is entirely dependant on each State's road rules, some allow towing another item behind travel trailers and 5th wheels, some do not. I do believe for those that do, the 2nd item must have it's own brake away braking system, etc. Now for the crunch, I really think your going to get hammered trying to tow all that with an F-150.

Towing laws are governed by the state you're in at the time and they are NOT reciprocal.

I really don't think your F150 can handle all of that. Your F150 will probably be at or near (if not over)its limits w/ the Jayco (depends on what F150 you have and what your payload is etc). Also many states that allow triple towing require the first trailer to be a 5er so you would need to clarify that. All in all, I don't think it is a good idea.

I would add that you are at or past 50' of length with the two trailers depending on the hitch arrangement between them. States that do allow 2 trailer have an overall length restriction. Some are 65 feet, some a little more. I think you would be over 65', possible over 70'. I would definitely not do that with an F-150.

Legal in Texas as long as you don't exceed 65' overall length. I do it all the time heading to the local lakes.

Kinda what I thought. 98 F150's are near the truck the newer ones are and that would be agood load for a newer F150.

In Alberta you can do that, but only if the first trailer is a 5th wheel. Definitely jurisdiction dependant.

It would be legal in Montana, up to 75 feet overall length.
I know, that doesn't help you in Chicago!
