Our current analog thermoststat always had us too hot or too cold. I found a genuine Coleman-Mach direct replacement digital thermostat 8330-3362 at a good price and ordered one this week. Installation was simple. Remove wire from old thermostat and attach them to the new one. Once the power wire was attached the LED room temp started working. I have a thermometer just above the thermostat that I know is accurate. The temp on the new thermostat showed the correct temperature. I briefly checked to make sure all the functions of the replacemnt thermostat worked correctly. Then I ran a test with the AC. I set the temp 3 degrees below room temp. The AC ran until the room temp reached 1 degree below what I had set.
It will be nice not to go from too hot to too cold especially during the night. I really don't understand why the digital thermostats are not being used. In the retail market, the digital thermostat is only about $6 more than the analog....and works 10 times better.

If you ever think you might want to be able to turn your furnace on when the temperature in your rig is cold (like around freezing), you may want to do a little test with your thermostat to verify that it will operate at these temps as not all digital thermostats will (Honeywell's don't).
To test it, you can just put it in the freezer for a hour or so and then turn the temp up. If you hear a "click", then you are good to go
If you don't hear a "click", then you may have troubles turning on your furnace when the thermostat is cold
While not very fancy, the ACE brand (I forget the manufacture at the moment) digital thermostats do turn on at low temps.

Keep warm (or cool),
Steve
Thanks for the heads up Steve. I really didn't think about that. We typically wouldn't use it in temps below 40F. I will check it if it ever gets that cold again.
