just curious how big is too big for a bumper pull TT to tow around. my last onr was a 21.5' hybrid. could bring it anywhere. does anyone tow a 35' TT to different places or do you just use TT that long as seasonals? just curious.
thanks

Most truck bumpers are limited to about 500 lb. of weight so anything with a tongue weight over that much would be too big for pulling with the bumper. I personally would cut it off a long ways BEFORE getting that heavy.

We use our 35', 10,000 pound Sabre for everything including weekending at state parks.

I doubt that you pull a 10,000# trailer on your bumper!

We have pulled the 33'6" Passport 300BH in our signature from SE Missouri to the Florida Keys and back with the F150 in our signature without any issues. We also use the same setup to go our favorite state parks in a 100 mi radius. In short, our camper does not sit in any one spot for long other than our storage location. In my opinion it is more about the TV and TT pairing and the weight distribution setup along with the robustness of the anti-sway mechanisms. If all of that is paried up effectively you should be able to tow anywhere you want with anything that is made by a reputable manufacturer.

My last trailer was 34'6". We would take it anywhere we wanted to. The max length you pull is whatever you are comfortable towing. A few parks (federal/state) may not accept the length but for us we did not have to deal with that aspect.

Pretty sure trucks back in the 60's and 70's had much stronger bumpers.

Anyway we just got a 35' Sprinter and we are taking it all over this year. State parks and private. Of course you have to have the right TV for that sort of travel but ours could certainly be left on a site I suppose. I have a friend that has a park model with a regular house fridge and a built in entertainment center and he used to tow it around for weekends all the time. He is now selling it and looking for something smaller.
