OK, A few weeks ago, I inquired about modding my trailer with some outside LED lights under the entry side of my trailer...(see link for original post)http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25992602.cfm

I spent a few hours the last 2 days and have it all set. I needed to drill a 3/4 hole for each light into a thin sheet of aluminum skirting.
Before...

Hole Drilled...

Light installed...

Lit up at dusk...Installed 8 lights total...

I grounded the lights to the frame. I ran a power wire directly from the battery along the entire frame. I cut in a spade connector near the battery to disconnect power and zip tied, heat shrink, and taped all connections. It took me around 4 hours to complete this. I have about $30 in lights. I had all of the connectors and wire, so no other cost for this mod. After all said and done, this is the exact effect I was looking for. I can keep the normal outside courtesy light off and these little guys can stay on all night.

Thanks. Why would the light police jump on this one? It's not used when towing over the road. And they actually just light the ground area where the old light up on the side of the trailer lights up more area that one tends to be bothered by. Plus the old light attracts bugs up near the door.

I am kind of a light police guy. I like my dark, my own lights and my own fire. I like it undisturbed by others lights. I like not to have someone's lights lighting up my bedroom.

I, also, like this mod. Well done.

Now if you can get them to flash with the clearence lights that would really be a show!!I don't see how anyone could gripe about those lights. They are low and direct most light to the ground...nice mod..

You said you ran the power directly from the battery, I hope you put a fuse in there close to the battery.

Thanks Kiwi. I don't like lots of bright lights either that can interfere with neighbors.
