Will be driveing 34' Class'A' pulling TOAD last week of Aug. Hows Rt.62 from RidgWay, Colorado to PlacerVille, than Rt.145 to Naturita & finally Rt.90 over to Rt.191 in Utah ? Thanks
Did it in 1964 in the winter snow when the top of Lizard Head pass was gravel, Great place to see and drive, keep your eyes on the road, spend a lot of time in Saw Pit, love it.
2005 Chev 5.3 Supercharged 395HP 425 T hp. Two wheels on front, 2 on back. one seat, tint windows. front and rear bumpers, headlights, windows. Door on each side. Heater, floor mats, 6 Reese candy bars, junk behind seats, some dirt. Pulls so hard.
The route is a good two lane highway. A couple of good climbs, first is Dallas Divide just west of Ridgway and then just before you get to Norwwood. Norwood hill can be an issue in the winter time but is fine in the summer. Usually little traffic to contend with on the route. It is the way to go from Ridgway to Utah. Lot of beautiful ranch country along the way with the mountains to the south. As you start the climb up Dallas Divide, the large ranch to the south, with miles of wood fence, is the Double RL Ranch, owned by Ralph and Ricki Lauren, the fashion designer. One of the largest working ranches in that part of Colorado.

We did that route in September with our 40' motorhome. It's a good drive with gorgeous scenery. You won't be driving Lizard Head Pass, as mentioned but that Pass is very doable too - and it's paved!! Have fun!

If I recall correctly, there are some pretty tight switchbacks on Rte 90 Between Paradox and LaSal..
The tightest curve that I can find on Google Maps is on the climb of the escarpment west of Bedrock. It has a radius of 130 ft, so no one will have cross their lane lines. However the grade will probably limit the speed of any large vehicle to the 20 mph range.
