we bought a brand new TT this spring. Last weekend we took it out for the maiden voyage. We unpacked everything from the old one before we sold it and brought in the house. SOooo we made a big list to make sure everything went into the new one.

We packed everything. nothing missed. or at least we thought.

We got to the campground and set up the whole site and got everyone in the TT because it was raining and our dalmation was whining and freaking out the whole weekend. Finally I figured it out. The new camper (car) smell. We didn't bring anything of his that had his scent on it. He couldn't find his spot. I knew I should have packed the blanket off of his bed for the first trip or two. By sunday he had mellowed a bit.

next time we will remember his blanket at least. He does have his own couch in the TT just like at home.

How in the world do you get a Dalmation to mellow out in just three days? Especially cooped up inside and not able to run a couple of miles each day?

I had a German Shorthair, and it would drive me nuts when cooped up more than a few minutes. She would take off on a 3 - 5 mile run in a second, and come back 20 minutes later a bit thirsty. But not mellow.

I finally bought a Sacco dog cart, and after pulling me for 2 miles, she was tired and ready for a nap. That is how I got her mellow, but that only lasts about 1 hour.

This video is not mine, but gives a good picture of the cart being pulled by two strong dogs, My german shorthair was only 65 pounds and went 15 MPH, 20 if a cat was nearby.

Interesting. Some of those big dogs just want to be lap dogs anyway!

My dog seems to always look for my jeans. Even when she has her bed she prefers my stink I guess.

Poor little child, shame on you.

Our furchild has his own rugs or blankets in various places. He doesn't like us to change them. When wife took his blanket away in the livingroom to wash it he wanted nothing to do with a temporary replacement. If you try to pick it up while he can see, he will jump on top of it, LOL.

They do have their own ideas.

When we were trading rigs, we were carrying stuff from the former one to the new one, looked down and here comes my cocker spaniel with his ball in his mouth from the "old" unit, going to the new unit! He was helping... just making sure his ball got put in the new one, I guess. That was really cute and funny.

Diva's first trip in the motorhome was just an overnight to a local RV park to shake her down before our first road trip. She walked right into the crate we kept under a side table, where dear old Beth had always ridden, and decided that was where the corgi girl belonged. Hopped in and went to sleep.

Crates and dogs are funny. We had an oversized (giant?) crate for our German Shepherd, as he couldn't curl up at all. Our Aussie joined us after our German Shepherd passed away, and moved right in. He looks funny in there, especially curled up in the back, I think there is room for at least three Aussies in that crate, but he's happy.
