Well we did it. Just took delivery of a 2012 F450 6.7L CC XL, dark blue pearl metallic 4x4, 6spd auto w/shift on the fly, camper package, 5'th wheel prep with hitch & gooseneck, dual alternators, supplemental heat, block heater, engine idle shutdown, roll up tonneau cover, etc., etc. etc. Quite an upgrade from our 07' 6.0L. Only complaint right now is it is too quiet. Used to that diesel music. next step, upgrade from our 30' TT to 40' TH. Salesmen/women here we come.

Yep. went with the XL. Only way to get the rubber floor. Carpet does not mix well with mud, sand & other crap.

Congrats! Glad to see someone not afraid to buy the big Ford. Let us know how it works out. Pics maybe?

Not afraid of Ford. You put your money down and take your chances with any brand, Ford / Dodge / Chevrolet / etc. What sold me is their service department. They actually have diesel mechanics that know what they are doing. Have been dealing with them for 30yrs. Try to find mechanics that actually are mechanics. Went to a Chevrolet dealer to have work done. Talked with the mechanic and told him I was lost on these new engines. Asked him what the unit was I was pointing to on the engine, told me he did not know but could find out. Haven't been back.

Congratulations on the new truck!!! I know what you mean about the mechanics. The Chevy dealer that I use lost their Diesel Tech last year and still have not replaces him. I had to show their "Top" rated part changer how to check the balance rates on my injectors.

I hope that you enjoy many carefree miles in your new rig.

Very nice. I too order the XL and add options that I like to get the truck I want. I actually saved money the last time too.

So far, so good. Only issue I have is it is too quiet. After the F250 / 6.0L this sounds like a hybrid / electric. It will put you back in the seat tho.
