I'm fortunate in that I only lost part of my hearing in certain frequencies, which happens to be the same frequencies as my DW's voice.
If it is only in the right ear, it's called wife's ear.

Not only do I not hear the turn signal alarm, I also can't hear the toad's brake alarm, TPMS alarm, radio, cb, dog whining, AC or Generator running, other vehicle's horns....oh wait... I have my hearing aids off. Ok, there. Much better now.

Any of you with hearing loss that were in the military, hearing loss is compensable and the VA will provide examinations, hearing aids and batteries.
If you were in the Army or MC or shot long weapons remember that spot weld we were taught to make with our thumbs on our cheek? That causes the ear opposite your dominate hand left ear if right handed to be worse than the ear exposed to the weapon. You Arty guys, Huh, what huh? LOL
The good part about hearing loss is either not hearing or not acknowledging when the wife speaks. Ignore her long enough she'll get distracted with something else and leave you alone.

I just that they would give something to stop the Tinnitus!!! I have to admit that I was warned by the Hugh Tool rep, who loaned it to the military, that it would cause ringing in the ears. Just can't get away from it and one can not turn it off!

I can't hear my blinker and can't see the little green lights behind the dash glass with my sunglasses on so I wired in a bright red LED into the top of the dash in sync with the turn signal. Works for me and I don't have to listen to DW. 10,000 rounds of 7.62 a day hanging out of a Huey door did my ears in along time ago.

I miss DW when driving solo, she can hear a mouse, I cann't even hear the funny noises she hears coming from the engine.

I have the same problem. I have been thinking about replacing my flasher with an extra loud one if I can find one.

Thanks for the info! I lost my hearing in Vietnam many years ago 1969 (USMC, 1st Marine Division), I now wear hearing aids provided to me by the VA. Good Luck to you!
