We recently went from a fifth wheel to a small older Class C. We have very limited outside storage area. We would like to have something that we could carry outdoor stove and grill. We also purchase firewood in the area we camp. Where do you put it? We were wondering what other people have used and where to buy it.

If you have a hitch receiver, buy a cargo carrier that fits in the receiver. Available at Harbor Frieght and many other locations. Strap one or more large totes to it for grill or other items. Strap firewood with or without a tote. Most have 300 pound capacity.

For items that you aren't worried about having stolen, you can get a trailer hitch-mounted carrier like this: http://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Hitch_Cargo_Carrier-sf-Flat_Carrier.aspx. For many of them you can also buy a cover that zips on so that what is in the carrier doesn't get wet or provide temptation for thieves.

Minimize everything - - firewood goes on the deck until you get to the camp area; then it goes under the rig. Our BBQ grill folds up to about 2" 'thick' and about 18" square. Charcoal is in smaller bags. I use hunks of 'firestarter' under the charcoal to light it - - no 'Boy Scout Water'.
Have fun with half as much stuff,

Here is what I use. Even though it is small the trailer can haul an amazing volume of stuff. I typically take a small motorcycle, a bicycle, tools, gasoline cans, spare tires, etc. in it. The trailer does not measurably impact the RV mileage.

We also use a hitch-mounted carrier w/container on our longer trips.
If we wanted to carry a lot, we would get a swivel-wheel trailer. These are nice because they require no extra maneuvering when backing up, other than accounting for the slight extra length.
