We have the Pro-series hitch mounted carrier . Use it for carring our grill and firewood. Have a large rubbermaid contianer to keep the wood in. Also added the light kit to it ,gives you extra running ,brake and turn signals.

I have this Rola cargo carrier Link It is bomb proof. Just a hint.....If you are going to get a cargo carrier spend the money on a good one. There is some real junk out there. I can carry two (late) nights worth of firewood and an LP cylinder on it. If I am going to travel heavy I have a utility trailer.

I use an older version of this Coleman stove for grilling:

I have a Stay-A-While Deluxe adapter on the onboard propane tank. I put the grill on a folding table or on the picnic table and connect a 12 foot propane hose to the Stay-A-While adapter. The Stay-A-While can either provide propane from the onboard tank or from an external propane tank that is also connected to the Stay-A-While.

The stove easily fits in my basement storage and I don't have empty 1 QT propane bottles to deal with.

We have the same BBQ as gotsmart, works great. We also have a hitch basket that we put sides on it with an old bed frame to carry our kayaks and firewood. We went from a class a to a C and love it Good Luck

One of the things we gave up was using a outside grill and instead went with a George Foreman grill.
I was able to put boards across the middle of my inside storage. While this doesn't add space, it does let me get more things in there without everything falling out when I need the bottom item.

Our solution was a Harbor Freight aluminum carrier that was about $70 on sale a couple of years ago on Black Friday.

The storage box is a Black and Decker from Home Depot that cost about $60. The lock was very flimsy and one of the keys actually broke in it but the latches seem to work fine. The box is bolted through the bottom to the carrier which has a locking hitch pin.
The top of the box is a convenient heigh to use for the solar panel.

We also put the Weber 100 (baby Q) grill on the back when we don't feel like setting up the whole outdoor kitchen.
We've put firewood in it, extra chairs, that solar panel and store stuff at the campsite temporarily that actually "goes" someplace else in it. Not too heavy and a useful addition for extra storage in our small rig.

We're hooked!

How about THIS from Northern Tool? Durable, weather-proof, secure, Has strong handles for two people to carry to camp site.

If I needed the extra storage, I'd consider this one. But our tow vehicle takes care of these matters for us.

If just needing it temporarily, U-haul has a couple trailers that might do the job. If only 40 or so cubic feet is needed, a "sport trailer"" might be useful. They have bigger trailers, both enclosed cargo ones and open utility trailers. An enclosed cargo trailer near where I am rents for $15/day

If not running with a toad, it can't hurt to consider an enclosed, lockable trailer, because it can be loaded with firewood, or just used to keep stuff (sporting equipment) that take up a lot of space.

Don't forget -- to avoid spreading insects, you can "cheat" and buy untreated lumber at a hardware store. A good number of places can even cut the wood to 14" to 18" long just so it can be stored and be ready to go should the need arise. This comes in handy at some SPs where gathering of wood is forbidden (or in the case of a nearby SP, impossible due to the devastation due to a forest fire last year.)
