Happy 2,
Thanks. I believe this is The Dynamat what you are referring to. Correct? I have been looking at that. I have carpet in front of the slide, to the firewall. How did you get it under the carpet? I have not tackled it because I was unsure of how to install it between carpet and floor. What adhesive did you use on the doghouse?
I am somewhat handy with tools, though far from great. With some advice, I can probably do this myself.
May God bless your travels

I unstall mine under the dog hose. It has a stickey back or if you are just installing under the carpet, just slide it where you want it. It is made to self glue to the metal on door, trunk, hood, to deading out the sound.

Never used the stuff, but I did buy some lead foil from Boeing surplus to insulate my engine room of my boat. I'm going to assume this product is similar. To work correctly, it has to completely cover the source of the noise, just like rolling up a window tightly to seal out the outside noise. It works because lead is very dense and doesn't transmit vibrations (noise) well. I used a spray adhesive.
So, I'd remove the carpet, glue or somehow attach the product to the dog house and then reapply the carpet. You may find it more convenient to screw down the carpet.

I removed the carpet on my p30 chassis. It had a step so it was pretty easy. Took about 60 sq ft of material to do the cab area. I removed the seats as well.

How hard is it to lift the carpet and then reinstall. I know I will have to remove the driver and passenger seats.

Not worth it to reuse it. A good carpet guy thats done motorhome before shouldnt charge more than $150 for new carpet & install.

simply insulating the doghouse will cut some noise but not all of it.
Average dog house is what? 6 sq ft? Average passenger area is 16.

OK. I am gonna get under Aurora and have a look. Did you use anything special to clean before attaching.
Tennis ball, eh. Neat trick to "roll" it into place.

$150 seems very cheap. I suppose this involves me removing bolted down chairs and removing the carpet, which I am willing to do. I will have to price carpet and pad locally and do some research on installers.
