My 89 Mallard Sprinter 25 ft C has a small split in the roof.It looks like the material is galvanized metal.Last summer this split appeared and I put some flexable roof sealer on it and the leak stopped but this year the leak is back.It looks like the sealer has maybe shrunk and split and I have a small leak again. Is there a permanent fix for this?
It's more likely aluminum...use a strip of Eternabond Tape..it's flexible and has extremley good bonding ability. You might drill a small hole at the beginning of the crack to relieve pressure.

Did you stop drill the crack so it does not get bigger? If not, you should get a very small drill and put a drill hole at the very end of the crack. That will stop it from spreading.
For a little more umph you could cut a piece of aluminum .024 stock as a patch. Circle the crack with butyl, bed the patch in the butyl, then cover the seam with eternabond.

Had aluminum roof in an old Mallard, too. It will expand/contract a bit and no simple patch will work. An aluminum patch, caulked with an appropriate material for aluminum, fastened mechanically with pop-rivets, and Eternabond over should fix permanently.
