Not sure if this is a forum issue or my browser, but often after posting a reply I'll see that the line was broken midway as though I'd hit "enter." Makes for a sloppy looking posting. Example:

What is the
weather going to be like tomorrow?

Ideas?

Only time I have ever seen this is:
1) You did hit Enter
2) You cut and pasted it from a text editor

I've never known the display engine to "willy-nilly" break lines. In fact, there are times we wish that it wold break a line. Type 300 x's. It won't break that line; it will just add scroll bars to the bottom of the page. On second thought, take my word for the x's.

The problem must originate on my end, with the browser maybe? To be clearer, the break only occurs in the posted form. It's not present in the box the post is created in. So it occurs somewhere in the transfer to final posting. I don't see it happening with other's posts. Maybe I'll just live with it.

It bothers me more than it should. Probably because I produced ten to 20+ thousand pages of text a year for decades and know what a printed document should look like.

Give us a link to a post that you are concerned about. You can get a link to posts by clicking on the Link link in the upper right portion, above a post.

You provided a link to a post made by t-train. The post contains two lines of text. I would assume that he typed the Enter (or Return) key at the end of the first line.

If you are referring to your post in the thread

Your post

(The URL was obtained by clicking on the Link link in the upper-right portion of YOUR post.)

I analysed the character in your post. Immediately following the "It also gives one a reason to get up in the morning and S," one finds a linefeed, which one would assume was placed there because you typed the Enter (or Return) key.

The link I sent, the first post is by cavemancharlie, and mine is below that. Oddly, when I view it on the iPhone, it's perfect. But on this laptop, the line does break. Here's a cut and paste from the laptop:

Many small business employers don't like to look at a resume with a lengthy period of unemployment. Trite as it is, I'd get on the payroll anywhere I could, at any rate of pay offered. If I saw a resume that said the guy earned 80k for years, got laid off and worked at McD's for 18 months while shopping for a decent job, I'd look hard at that guy's other qualifications.

It also gives one a reason to get up in the morning and S,
S, S and Shampoo. And most of those jobs are less than full time, so interview times likely don't have to interfere with that work.

End of paste.

I've had this happen several times. Believe me, when I'm typing it in the reply box, there is no break. It occurs on submission. If you are able to see the line break as if I'd hit enter, I have to assume the problem is the laptop inserting it randomly in the reply as I click on the submit button. Thanks for the time.
