I had a horrible experience in the Vacaville, California Camping World; I'm looking to upgrade from a TT to a 5th Wheel and went there to look at 5th wheels. The sales person was a young guy who came across like a used car salesman.
I told him I was just looking but he pushed very hard to try and get me to commit to buying a trailer right then and there. He invited me in his office, asked me for my drivers license, which I reluctantly gave him, and he began filling out paperwork. After about 15 minutes I stood up, grabbed my drivers license, and told him I had to go. He literally begged me to give him 10 more minutes, but I told him I was not interested and I left.
On the way out I met and older sales person who commented that I looked like I was being chased out of the building, and I later learned that the younger sales person was new and used to be a Toyota salessman. He acted like a high pressure used car sales person and gave me the impression like he was working on commission.
I'm a little shy now about going to and RV dealership, and I do understand that they want to make a sale, but they also have to give the customer some breathing room. I will no longer give them my license, telephone number, or e-mail address unless I am ready to buy; because they will hound you with e-mails, telephone cals, etc.
My experince at Camping World, Vacaville, CA was horrible and I did literally run from that place. I'm still going to buy a 5th wheel but I don't know yet from where I will purchase it.

Don't judge that dealership based on one overly agressive new guy..maybe he is desperate for that job and has been told he has to make a sale soon or be terminated.
Anytime you are looking to buy a vehicle...you have to remain in control of the situation. I always make it very clear that I am looking right now. I also am not afraid to ask to be left alone to browse.
If that offends them or is against their policy...I leave. Never give them you keys or any info except maybe your name. I don't even give them my drivers license so that they can "make a copy", I'll show it to them if I am going to drive their vehicle.
My posts shouldn't be taken for factual data. They are purely fictional, for entertainment purposes and should not be constituted as actually related to scientific, technical, engineering, legal, spiritual or practical advice. Amen.

Thank you fordsooperdooty; that is some very wise advice. I am upgrading both my tow vehicle and, as said before, from a TT to a 5th wheel.
I went to another RV dealership, Folsom Lake RV, who referred me to a Ford dealership because I am interested in getting a Ford F-150 with Ecoboost as a tow vehicle for the new 5th wheel. I went to the Ford dealership that I was referred to by the RV dealership salesperson, and at the Ford Dealership a salesperson referred me to the Camping World in Sacramento to buy my 5th wheel.
I thought it was odd that he would refer me to another RV dealership other than the one that referred me to him, and that he referred me to another Camping World. I put it on my list and will probably visit the Sacramento Camping World to look at 5th wheels next week, and I will surely take your sage advice.

Larry, this is the second time (that I know of) that the CEO of CW has said that he would "personally" see to it, that any problem you have with CW would be taken care of if you would only tell him about it.
This is a golden opportunity for you. I don't understand your reluctance to not take advantage of it. I mean here is the CEO of a multi-million (billion?) dollar company who is putting himself at your disposal. What more do you want?
Come on back and give him a chance.

This is absolutely amazing and absolutely refreshing.
This kind of treatment by one of his employes must drive a CEO like Marcus Lemonis crazy.
Hat is off to him...

And if you all missed it, Good Sam's ERS was part of Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" show last Sunday where a competition was held to write a new jingle/ad for GS. Well done, Marcus, we thank you for all you do.
