We have use GMAC for 3 years. I was lookin over the bill when it came due in April. I saw on my bill where they charge me $50.00 to have there insurance. To make sure i was reading it right i call. They told me thats right. I call Allstate witch i have on my other two cars and house. Alstate beat GMAC 144.00 and i have better covarage. Thanks to GMAC for chargeing me $50.00 for doin bussiness with them i save $144.00 switching to Allstate.

I've also had GMAC (through Good Sam Club) and have never heard of this $50 charge you're talking about. Went to my policy and there is nothing there to indicate that I've ever been charged anything other than coverage charges.

As for Allstate, I had them for over 30 years and when we bought the motor home, there(sic) charge was more than twice what I got with GMAC.

Me thinks you're pulling our legs.

We have Farm Bureau insurance. Rates are reasonable and the service is excellent.

What company carries your motorhome insurance? How well do you like them and are their premiums realistic?

I currently have Progressive and have been happy with them for 3 years, but I think their premiums are a bit high so I would like to check with other insurance companies. I have Allstate for my homeowners and everyday vehicles but they do not offer RV insurance in North Carolina where I live.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

LostCajun

I'm presently with STATE FARM who saved me some money with who I had previously. Seems as though, one must change companies every few years to maintain reasonable premiums.

I am with Progressive as well. As a former insurance adjuster, I am picky. I am not a huge Progressive fan, but my broker got me the best deal with them and I know enough that if I have a claim, they will end up doing the right thing. I have looked into some other programs. I can't use GEICO or Ameriprise due to bad prior experiences. Good Sams Club has a good program, but my price through Progressive was better.

Same here. My agent got me the best deal with progressive. Said they were very aggressive about getting home, auto, motorcycle, and RV customers.

Keep in mind that you really can't go by what others in other states are paying. Each state is different and it's also different if you've had claims or driving ticket issues. Your age and other vehicles insured makes it different. Lots of variables. What you need to do is gather a list of those used here and call for quotes using exactly the same things required. Plus, as 'Tropical36' stated, you almost have to change every few years to find better rates. Good luck!

We've had our first and current coach insured by Foremost Insurance Co. since 1995.

Over the years we've filed a number of claims, one on our first coach was rather substantial, and on our current coach we've filed several claims for windshield replacements.

All of our claims were handled promptly with absolutely no hassle. We have full coverage with $250 deductible and have never had an increase in our annual premium of $901.00.

Some may feel our annual premium a bit high, and it may be, however
considering the excellent service we've received from Foremost, we're OK with it.

If interested, here's Foremost's web site:

Good luck with your choice of an insurance carrier and safe travels..

We have had State Farm for years. When we bought our new Tiffin the dealer said he would get us other insurance quotes to save us money. After a couple days he called to say he could not beat our State Farm rate and we should stay with them.

Great service and no surprise increases like some here complain about from other companies.

National Interstate Insurance. Recommended by insurance agent at RV dealership. They insure both RV and tow vehicle or toad.
