NOOOOOOOOOOO, don't do it! At least get the 3/4 ton V10 you will be much more happier towing. The v10 has power to spare. Previously owned an F150 with that 5.4 and that engine worked hard with 6500lbs. Now have a 2005 V10 F350 towing about 10.5K pound fiver and it is a great combination. Ditched the F150 after the timing chain bit the dust.
Should be plenty of deals on V10's with current gas prices.

You gotta love the guys who ask for advice and then say that they are going ahead and doing whatever they started out to do no matter what a lot of people with a whole lot of experience say!

Hey, give the guy a break, he's new here and doesn't know how smart we all are. Like it says on his NH license plate - "Live Free or Die". But I kinda like the old "Live and Learn" one myself.

Its alright, sometimes people have to spend "stupid" money in order to learn a lesson. This is just MY opinion but even these trailers that say "half ton towable" Sure they may be but to what extent? flat freeway driving? sure. Get into some rolling hills or mountains and you better be on your knees preying that the trans holds, or you dont over heat, OR have enough breaking power. Our rig is a touch over 71' bumper to bumper and were still not as heavy as some of you fellas that pull these 40 footers. Needless to say i dont think people realize the dangers of having an inadequate tow vehicle its very dangerous.

Oh well, so much for asking for advice then totally ignoring it. Most in here have learned from doing, and more than several of us have had to spend MORE money from making dumb mistakes , but it is what it is.. OP has been warned by those who not only have book learning, but have learned the hard way, from experience, guess it don't count for much anymore..OPs truck ain't got enough power, guess he will find out soon enough

Yall all said he couldn't do it! Yes he can. That truck will pull that trailer. He probably won't be happy with it, but hey, that's his problem. You coulda said you might have problems with that, but NOOOO everybody had to say it can't be done. He'll show you it can.

You can never have too much truck, but you can certainly not have enough, Fifth wheel = Diesel Dually then your done
