Trying to check the coolant level in my engine, but there are no markings on the coolant reservoir. The visible coolant level is about an inch below the top of the reservoir. Should the reservoir be full?

My reply assumes that the coolant recovery tank is the same for Cat or Cummins engines since Freightliner installs the radiator. It also assumes that you have a rear radiator.

My rear radiator Freightliner does not have easy to see markings on the coolant tank, but they are molded into the white plastic. I'll admit that they are easier to see on the new tank that I just installed, but were not impossible to see on the old one. Look just below the mid line of the tank toward the right side.

From my poor memory, about one inch below the top of the tank would be within the min and max range.

There is a Min. and a Max. line embossed on the poly tank. I believe my max mark leaves at least a 1" empty area on top.

I've got my MH parked outside the house for a washing in the morning. Just checked my ISB 325 and it has Cold Min and Max lines embossed on the Clear Poly Tank on the top of the radiator. Located just to the right of the metal radiator cap. Hopefully, yours is the same.
