Hi, our TT has a slide out with matching awning to protect it from the weather. We, I should say my wife, has been organizing the new TT and I had left the slide open last night. Over night, we got some good thunderstorms and heavy rain, when I woke the awning which is typically straight was bowed due the rain. I retracted the slide and re-extended it, heard the rain all pour and was good to go. Is this normal after a heavy rain?
thanks in advance...

Yes. Some slide toppers have more slack than others therefore collect more water. Some folks have invented methods to keep water from accumulating - I've seen PVC frames, large balls, etc, they scoot under the awning. We just retract awning and dump any water. (It is more fun if someone is under the awning and unaware when this action is taken ....... but that is another story!)

apparently your awning topper has too much slack in it and this allows the water to puddle. you are going to have to figure a way to get some slope to the awning topper so the water will drain better.

Measurements would vary with the slide, but try the beach balls from Wal-Mart. The PVC frame I saw was very simple: the single leg at each end had a "tee" as a foot, running the same way as the narrow edge of the slide, this attached to a single leg as tall as it took to push up the awning slightly, on the top of this leg, another "tee" was attached so it ran the same way as the long side of the awning, (a 90 degree angle to the "foot"), with a single pole long enough to extend to the opposite hem of the awning and fit into that end's leg. The frame appeared to be 1" hardwall PVC pipe and I would imagine it is not glued (at least the long pole could be disassembled) so it could be stored easily. If this is clear as mud, PM me and I will try to clarify.

Go anywhere Beach Ball are sold. Get one or two and inflate them and stick them under your awning to prevent sag. Water will run right off. Easy fix.

Our slide does it only due to being a 36 inch slide. We just watch it and retract slowly after a rain. Smaller slides don't have a problem.
I don't think it is slide tension as much as size.
Pretty normal on a deep slide.

We have a large slide (14' x 3 1/2') and it does that all time. Just retract about half way and make sure no one is standing near the slide or they get a free shower.

Thanks everyone, we have the "super slide." I think it is at least 3 feet, maybe longer. I want to cut a piece of 1/2 PVC and cap both ends to give to the wife as I am backing up, so I do not run into the whole, I am all leveled up and now the damn slide will the hit the tree if fully extended.
The awming doesn't have any slack while extended, just holds a lot of water once it is extended.

Ours do the same thing. I'm too lazy to put beach balls up there. As others have said it's fine to just retract the slide when you see water pooled up there. Since its a spring loaded awning there is no risk of damage whatsoever. Camp on....
