I have noticed recently that there is a waste odor that comes from the bathroom ONLY when driving. When I stop, the odor goes away fairly quickly . There is no problems with odor when camped. My tanks had just been emptied yesterday. I opened the bathroom window and that helped a bit.
First, what could be causing this?
Second, what can I do that doesn't involve taking apart the toilet --I wouldn't have a clue how to do that?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

It might be the gry tanks that are giving you the smell. it may be coming up through the sinks. when driving your pee traps are getting empty and the smell comes up. I would try keeping some water in the sinks and the shower and see if the smell comes back. to be on the safe side, keep water in the toilet too.

Under the sink is a stand pipe with a one way valve on top. It allows air to follow waste water when it flows to the tank. The valves sometimes fail but are inexpensive and easy to replace.
The second cause could be a blocked vent on the roof, but that seems unlikely since the problem is apparent only when you're on the road.

I have found that putting stoppers in the drains helps. Water may come out of the traps causing the oders to enter the bathroom.

Install a cyclone vent on the roof where your blaack tank vents. It will cure the problem. Any odor from the gray tank can usually be controlled by covering the drain holes while traveling.

The cyclone should work for you. As you drive, the wind causes a negative air pressure in the tank that pulls the odors outside instead of forcing them inside.

cyclone might work but I spent alot less by just replacing my roof vents with a pvc tee from a local home store

Could be what others said. Had the same problem in a Class A some time ago. Experimented with ensuring traps were full, bathroom overhead vent open, plugs in sink, rearmost window slightly open to cause a draft. Didn't matter if we just dumped or had stuff in the tanks. Chemicals in the tanks did not help. Still had a slight odor only occasionally but it usually went away after a few minutes on the road, or we just got used to it LOL.

^ Had the same thing in my Alpine when I got it. There were 3 of these in it, one at the kitchen sink way at the back accessed by removing the drawers, one under the bathroom sink which serviced the sink/shower and one under the access panel for the optional (not installed) combo washer. I've taken several trips since replacing them and no issues at all anymore.
